LSIG conducts first of two online forums on Adaptive and Resilient Governance during Health Crisis Situations

In partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Galing Pook Foundation, the DLSU Institute for Governance launched an Online Knowledge Forum Series on Adaptive and Resilient Governance during Health Crisis Situations last 29 September 2020.  The series aims to generate practical insights on how public institutions and stakeholders in governance can expand their capabilities, innovate practices, and collaborate to address complex crisis situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first of two forums held last 29 September 2020, focused on Rethinking Local Health Governance. The topics that were tackled include the following:  Setting-up an Immediate Local Response Strategy and System; Local Transitory and Medium-Term Planning; and Local Health Communication. Over 300 participants representing local government units, civil society organizations, and academic institutions attended the virtual event.  The speakers of the first run of the knowledge forum included Dr. Angelo Rayo from UP- Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Redento Recio from University of Melbourne, and Mr. Carlo Figueroa from DLSU Department of Communication. Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro of Tabaco City, Albay and Dr. Ben Hur Catabagan of Mati, Davao Oriental responded to the presentations as discussants.  The second knowledge which will focus on Reimagining Governance during a Pandemic is scheduled on 29 October 2020.
